Wonderful hotel in a beautiful area

My partner and I were looking for a place close to Shree Peetha Nilaya in Heidenrod, and this hotel was the perfect choice. Right from the start, the email communication during booking was incredibly smooth. We arrived late in the evening, but everything was perfectly organized and our keys were ready for us. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel is located in a beautiful, pleasant hilly area. On top of that, the beds were wonderful to sleep in, and the staff was extremely friendly. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning next month for another few nights. Highly recommended!

Disappointing third stay at the Hotel Malepartus

I stayed at Hotel Malepartus, Bad Schwalbach (near Wiesbaden), Germany for one night on the 30 November 2018. I had previously stayed in the hotel twice before.
The purpose of my stay was to attend an event at the Bhakti Marga International Centre in Springen village.
On the previous two occasions I stayed in a double room but this time I stayed in a single room. Unfortunately, this proved to be an injudicious choice, as the quality of the room was not of such a good standard. If you are of large stature, I would definitely NOT recommend booking a single room at the Hotel Malepartus.
I have decided to try another hotel for my next visit to Bad Schwalbach.
The Room
The bedroom was in need of redecoration, however, the main problem I had was with the bathroom and I will itemise my points of concern below.
1. There was no electric or central gas heating in the bathroom which is not acceptable during the winter. Anyone who travels to Germany will know the winters can be extremely cold. Guests may risk becoming ill standing in a cold bathroom after leaving a hot shower.
2. The shower cubicle was entered by a sliding door which was very narrow and I had to awkwardly twist my body to step inside.
3. The shower cubicle was too small for someone of larger stature (height and girth) and it was difficult for me to wash properly due to the cubicle dimensions.
4. This was made worse by the absence of a wall-mounted toiletries holder (a basic essential) so I had to put my shower gel on the floor and struggled to reach it without banging my head on the wall.
5. The light above the wash-hand basin had an on/off flick switch and NOT a pull cord. A bathroom light of this type should have a pull cord for safety.
Someone with wet hands may receive an electrical shock by turning on such a light switch.
The Common Areas
I was disappointed that the hotel management had made no attempt to improve the
decoration standards in the common areas since my visit in July 2018.
The Staff
I was concerned the manager did not seem to recognise that I had stayed in the hotel only four months before. I would have expected acknowledgement of this, even if cursory. He did not appear to have developed his borderline perfunctory Hotelier customer services skills further since my previous visit. I doubt he fully understands that a hotel’s business is built on customer relationship management and benefits from displaying demonstrable warmth when interacting with customers.
I think it is a basic expectation that a hotel’s guests are automatically told the wi-fi password at check-in and this did not happen.
Restaurant
I did not have any breakfast or meals when I stayed at the hotel, but have a restaurant on the ground floor that has a relaxed ambience.
The Location
Bad Schwalbach is a historical spa town, which is located about 20 km North-West of Wiesbaden, the nearest large city. Wiesbaden is approximately a 30-minute drive from Frankfurt International Airport. Bad Schwalbach is quaint, benefits from a tranquil atmosphere and would be a good stop-off point to another destination in the wider locale.
By taxi or car, it takes about 15 minutes to drive from Bad Schwalbach to Springen.
