Great experience at Hostal Karol in Punta Arenas for our Patagonica team!

We really enjoyed the time at the Hostal Karol B&B this January 3-4 while we were in Punta Arenas. We had three rooms on the upper floor and it was great to have the rooms close together for our team. We are so grateful to Mary and her team for welcoming us to the hostal and always being so kind to us to arrive anytime during the day or night as we had a busy schedule in Patagonia. The breakfast is always ready anytime you need to wake up early and they are very helpful to make sure all the guests can get to the airport and around the city as needed.

Last-minute cancellation during high season

Horrible experience!!! Please be very careful with this place!!!
I booked this hotel through Booking a couple of months ago for 2 nights. We were in contact, exchanged messages, everything was confirmed and seemed absolutely fine.
Today, February 9, 2026, while I was traveling from Ushuaia to Punta Arenas, I suddenly received a cancellation from them via Booking — just like that, out of nowhere!
They have my phone number and could have easily contacted me in advance via Booking messages or WhatsApp to discuss the situation.
I am traveling alone, and during the high season accommodation availability is extremely limited.
By doing this, they basically left me on the street.
Please be very, very careful when booking with them!

Marvellous

Simple but clean and well heated rooms. Very warm welcome. Flexible and delicious breakfast. We got some tea and cake in the evening after a long walk. 50m to bus sur and bus pachego. Very close to the center.
After 6 weeks in Chile we like this hostal most! Recommended!

The MOST inviting host and place to stay!

Our group had such a wonderful stay at Karol Hostal! The host, Mary goes above and beyond to ensure her guest have a really comfortable and happy stay! It was really cozy and clean and I would highly recommend anyone passing through Puenta Arenas to stay here! It's a special little place with a special Host who makes it all the better! :)

Made us comfortable in Punta Arenas!

Mary and her helpers took great care of us at Karol Hostal B&B, even though we were a big group and kept rather odd hours! It felt like we were at home. She had breakfast ready for us earlier than usual because we needed to leave for an early-a.m. tour. Super nice!
