Warm welcome , good basic comfort, good transit location

Simple but decent hotel with very warm welcome. The patron is very available and makes every effort to help you if you have any questions.
The room was spacious, the bathroom is simple but clean. Good transit location, opposite the T.G.V. station.

I happened to come across the website of this hotel and had a room booked for one person the top bathroom redone room also great magnetic card system to get into the room cleanliness nickel breakfast good thank you

Good.

I only visited the bar but considering the state of cleanliness of the toilet we assume everything is perfect. Finally an establishment that doesn't neglect the details... probably managed by professionals. The terrace of the bar is very nice, the capuccino is good at a decent price, and, in addition there seems to be humor which does not spoil anything, "let's go" ,

Hotel loses your luggage and could now not care less about getting luggage back

This Hotel gave our luggage that we left with them for safe keeping until we returned from a hike . They gave the luggage to a 3rd party without checking and was not returned. The hotel is now ignoring our request to get this back and this is appalling given the loss we are now incurring. Please do not book this hotel as they do not care about the customer.

Hikers and skiers beware - our bags were stolen from this hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Le Commerce on the 28th August and the 6th September 2023. We were hiking in the Vanoise Alps and this hotel stay was at the start and end of the hiking trip. There were three of us. Two of us left bags with spare clothes for safe-keeping, which we would collect when the hiking trip was over. We have ben hiking for many years and this was something we always do.
When we returned we found out that our bags were no longer at the hotel. We were informed that the bags were taken by an Italian Railway Company, by accident, following a rockfall onto the railway line close to Modane.
We have been waiting for well over 2 months to receive the bags from the hotel. I have suggested a number of times that the bags be posted directly to me. However, the hotel have not responded to my request and are ignoring us. The management are clearly disreputable.
At this stage, we find it difficult to believe that the bags were actually taken by this Italian Railway Company. We were never shown any confirmation of this. All we can conclude is that the hotel either allowed the bags to be stolen or they were taken by somebody either working/staying in the hotel.
The bottom line is that if you are planning to hike next year in this area, you should not stay in this hotel. Your possessions are not safe there.
