Greetings from Diamonds Malindi!
Thank you for your wonderful review! We are thrilled you enjoyed our stunning location, delicious dining options, and the variety of pools and bars. It is great to hear that our resort provided the perfect "chill time" after your safari adventure. We truly appreciate your constructive feedback regarding activities for non-sporty teenagers. Your suggestions, such as providing balls in the fun pool, are very helpful as we look to enhance our guest experience. We also note your comments on the woodwork workshop and will review how to make it more engaging. We hope to welcome you and your family back soon!
Warm Regards,

It feels so good!
-The hotel garden is beautiful! Very well maintained, lush vegetation, flowers galore, a feast for the eyes! The whole hotel is very beautiful, the architecture of restaurants and bars is grandiose, , the pools are atypical in shape (no vulgar rectangles)
-Restaurants: first of all, I love the local costumes of the staff who welcome us! In Maasai uniform, we are in the middle of the African atmosphere. The dishes are quite repetitive but we have enough to eat anyway. Their fish are excellent! The pastries, very pretty by the way, are also very good. However, do not go to eat too late at the risk of not having much choice...
-The staff: lovely people!!! Except for a certain old man at the Jahazi bar in the evening who lacks friendliness, all are very kind people. Being at the club "O'Voyage", we shared many moments with Lennox who speaks very good French. Rarely kind, we shared many moments with him. We just regret that he could not show us around the city on a tour with the club as Lennox had just taken up his position at this hotel a few days before our arrival and did not yet know the area. We thank Naliaka for the hospitality for her efficiency. Moreover, we asked him for a taxi driver to accompany us into town and visit the surroundings. She found Maxwell, a great gentleman who took us to visit an orphanage (where we brought lots of school supplies), he then took us to 2 villages and then to the tourist market. He stayed with us all the time, taking care of our well-being, do not hesitate to contact him directly at +254.701.560.288, his rates are more than reasonable!
We also thank Daniel, the waiter of the beach bar, Gabriel of the safari office, Amos, the young waiter, this tall young man always smiling. Many thanks also to Selim, the beach keeper with whom we talked a lot. In faction near the steps all day, in full sun to ensure our tranquility (lots of "beach boys"...) At the end of our stay, we offered him our thermos to have fresh water all day because we do not know if the employees have the right to drink and eat at the hotel...In any case, their working conditions have nothing to do with ours and a little comfort does not hurt! Besides, a chair and umbrella for his position would be welcome! I'm sure Thimoty, the director, will hear our request. We had the opportunity to exchange with him for small worries initially, he is an accessible man who listens to his customers. Finally, we would like to congratulate Nicholus and Pina, 2 very friendly animators! They do their utmost to animate this hotel with aqua aerobics, beach volleyball, evening entertainment. They lack the means to create animations worthy of the name...
-A big bravo to all for the all-nighters on Saturday night! In garden party mode, the idea of placing tables in the garden is excellent. And the "Maasai invasion" in the middle of a meal is awesome! These African dancers literally spellbound us! We just regret that it was so short...just half an hour. It would have to last all evening! African evening to the end: employees in local dress with African music, holidaymakers would enjoy mingling with this happy tribe!
After the positive of this hotel, some negative points to address and correct:
-the deckchairs!!! It's a horror...you have to get up early to book a deckchair, whether at the beach or the pool. There are far too few! I find it unacceptable to be in a 5-star hotel and have to put your towel on the floor. Not to mention the number of defective, broken, out-of-use deckchairs...we must reinvest at all costs!!!
-the towels: idem, there are too few and too late! If you arrive around 9-10am, it is a while before an employee finds you a towel.
-the cleanliness of the beach: lots-lots of seaweed!!! I do want this to be the public beach, but it is used by hotel guests. A rake in the morning would be appreciable and would limit the back and forth of algae according to the tides.
Small final note: the "beach boys", many but not mean. They are not part of the hotel but they are omnipresent on the beach and discourage many holidaymakers from enjoying the sea to the fullest. They're living off the shackles. They offer their services against a "tips" to guide you in the water at low tide and warn you of dangers (corals, stinging sea urchins...), they sell small objects (incidentally, when you go down on the beach, on the left, at the very end of the hotel wall, are tin huts where you will find multitudes of gift ideas with price to negotiate. Go see "Mama Consolata" and her friends, adorable people who will be delighted to be able to sell some trinkets to support their families!
We travel regularly but this is the first time we felt like we were leaving a family behind...and that's thanks to the people so endearing! THANK YOU to all of you!!!

Laundry services
Then comes to services at the dining area / restaurant. Majority of the services were being done by "I am on training" students that took forever to bring simple orders like tea that actually was almost always served cold.
Seeing that room services included laundry services, I decided with my white sport shoes that I wore on traveling to malindi and 1 more day to an excursion in mambrui sand dunes and hell's kitchen needed cleaning, departure would be the next day on Sunday and I saw its was quite affordable. I go ahead and call reception and immediately they respond by saying we sending laundry personnel to pick your shoes, 15minutes later they are picked and I clearly explain that I'll be checking out the next day by 10am and the person responds by saying don't worry they will be cleaned and ready for use.
The next day at 9am I call reception and I am reminding them to send my shoes over to my room as I'll be departing at 10am, they affirmed that laundry personnel will be informed to bring them. This took 1hour of waiting ! Fast forward , the shoes arrived in a pillow case like packaging stapled labeled with the room number. Opening the package in the room , my white shoes were damaged, dirty with sand literally still in the shoes and almost in four pieces.
Still following up on compensation as housekeeping took the shoe for repair yet before delivery I wonder if they even checked what they were delivering. ! I don't think they cared.
They stated to have used industrial detergent to wipe , who does that! That thing burns and damages the very delicate shoe fabric and material therein. I didn't take any photos of before and after because I assumed I'll get excellent services but I was wrong.
So before you plan your trip to diamonds malindi, ensure that laundry services offered could cost you all your shoes and you could walk away barefooted with verbal apologies.
I am still here thinking if I had only that pair, I'd still be sitted in the reception area for a second night, missed my transfer services and booked transport waiting for a solution as they say housekeeping mara laundry manager will sort that out !?
