Hidden Treasure in the Heart of the Medina

This lovely riad, Maison Evelina, snugly situated on a quiet street just yards away from all the vibrant action of the ancient Fez medina is a real treasure, a small palace really, offering good home cooked meals (breakfast is free), superbly designed bedrooms with good mattresses and air conditioning, and a shady terrace on which to lounge, sip your beverage of choice, and enjoy a sweeping view of fabulous Fez in its entirety. Not to forget the amazing staff, Kamal and crew, who will service your every need. I can hardly wait to go back.

A large but DIRTY home

The home itself is fantastically located and ample enough to comfortably house our large group of people. Quite a cool house as well. Great rooftop with a spectacular view.
It is however...FILTHY. Rotten food in the fridge and trash cans. Carpets that haven't been vacuumed in ages. Dust everywhere. MANY of the lights dont work. Drawers full of random garbage. Light fixtures hanging off the walls or missing completely. Floors upswept. Dirty silverware in the drawers. Pretty gross.
Not to mention that we could hardly hustle up enough towels for everyone. The linen closets are full of people's clothes and no extra towels or sheets that we could find.
I wouldn't stay here again. All the other riads we've stayed in have been far far far superior. It's unfortunate because, with a deep cleaning and some better planning (towels and toilet paper) this riad could have gotten a great review from us.

FABULOUS STAY IN A MOST COMFORTABLE RIAD

Kamal and his team could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. A great welcome and we had supper their our first night and a genuine Moroccan meal it was. Amazing foods and most tasty. Nothing was too much trouble for Kamal and we find the Riad very comfortable and you are right in the Medina. Great fun in the morning as we went out to buy our breads for breakfast.
If you want a genuine Moroccan experience then do stay at Maison Evelina.

Great Stay

Amazing stay, very well located and reasonably priced. Staff is very helpful and accommodating (including picking you up from airport/train if needed) and will help you navigate around the city. They go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay in Maroc and will set up guided tours as needed. Riad has nice terrace with amazing views of the medina and breakfast is amazing, would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

GRATA SORPRESA

Fez, es un sin fin de callecitas, algo oscuras y llenas de gente, por lo que cuando llegué delante de la puerta de este riad, no las tenía todas conmigo. Mi opinión cambió en cuanto entré, estaba su dueño Jack, un autentico americano, super amable y atento, así como Kamal y Mohamed. Es una casa chulisima y acogedora. Mi habitación con baño en la última planta a la altura de la terraza, un lujo. El desayuno, la comida, la compañía.....GENIAL
