Review of Hotel MS

Friendly and most helpful staff. Great first impression of hotel. Very clean and comfortable. I really want to thank Claudia , the hotel Manager for helping us through a difficult situation and making us feel safe and very welcomed. I was very pleased with my stay and although my visit was short, I hope to be back in the near future.

Hidden gem

We found this little hotel last minute but it was perfect for our mini-getaway. It has the perfect location because all you had to step out the front door and the zocalo with restaurants were right there. All we really needed was a place to sleep and shower. The room and bathroom were basic but very clean. Staff was friendly. Prices were very reasonable. We definitely would stay here again!

Amazing find in a great, quiet location

(By the way, I don't agree at all with the previous review about the staff. They were very courteous, helpful, and friendly.) This was amazing choice in a quiet city close to Puebla. It faces the main Plaza. The hotel opened in 2016, so almost everything was new and spotlessly clean. The price was great: a room with a king-size (!) bed and private bath for two persons at $880 MXD; we got it last-minute on hotels.com for $680 MXD. This is cheaper than many private hostal rooms -- and much more luxurious.
The arcade in front of the hotel is lined with cafes that have open-air tables and views of the plaza. The plaza is attractive, and it's lined with all kinds of shops and businesses. There's a huge supermarket half a block south of the plaza. Colectivos, Directos, and Estrella Roja buses all operate from different locations half-a-dozen blocks or north of the hotel. There are lots of excellent restaurants -- a lot them with cheap eats -- nearby. The room had Internet that was strong and VERY fast.
Overall, everything was excellent. (By the way: to the reviewer who complained about noise from the Reception area, there are double glass doors to block noise from reception. The hallway can be loud and echo-ey, though.) There was lots of hot water (though, unlike most nice hotels, the hot water in the bathroom washbasin was cut off... guys, if you want to shave with hot water, do it in the shower with a view of the mirror).
Our room (101) had some strange quirks, though. One was that the room has no heating, cooling, and basically no ventilation at all: only a tiny window in the room and a slightly larger one in the bathroom. Because both windows are on the same side of the room, there's no cross-ventilation. It took hours to remove stale air from the room. When we asked, the staff gave us a portable fan; we propped it up on an ottoman next to the tiny window and had somewhat better luck. Another quirk is that the bathroom uses laminate (wood-grained plastic glued on wood), which isn't recommended for damp places... after less than a year since the hotel opened, the laminate was peeling from the bathroom door frame.
This place is an EXCELLENT alternative to Puebla if you like quiet in a lively area.

It’s Good But....

The hotel is really good, clean and with amazing location, you can wake up and you will have just in the corner the most incredible views.
Somethings to change.
1. Kids, is not a 100% kid friendly so don’t expect a kids menu or any special amenities.
2.parking lot, the hotel has partnership with a parking space, but is only free in between 8pm to 10am that means you have to paid around $1. Per hour. It should be included if you already are paying a good amount of money just to stay there.
3. To the manager on duty (10/22/2017)
Can you be kind with your staff? One of the waiters was scared to death to said no to me because the kids breakfast is not included even though I paid for 2 rooms including her in the room, as an adult ( a 4yr old) I felt so bad for him because I’m imagine the bad treatment in the hotel and the guest staying there; to the future guest. Please be nice with them
Because is not their fault is coming from management.
Good hotel with, One of the most clean, beautiful and good staff with a horrible management.

Terrible staff, ok facilities

This staff was the worst we experienced in two weeks in Mexico. Check-in was professional enough, but the rest was annoying. First minor complaint was nighttime noise. Like a lot of places in Mexico, the hallway is an echo chamber. We were prepared with earplugs, but I could here the nighttime staff whooping and hollaring all night.
The main reason for this poor review is for the checkout experience. I asked the front desk to call a cab for us to take us to the CAPU bus station. When the driver arrives, he grabs my bags before negotiating a price. I stop him and he quotes me a price that is 150% the usual rate. Now I don't might paying a gringo tax, but that was ridiculous. When he refused to come down from his price, he turns to the front desk lady and asks if it is too much and she says "it's a good price." Dealing with cabbies, it comes with the territory, but your hotel shouldn't collude against the guests like that. I called BS, refused the ride, walked outside, and found a proper rate right outside.
Don't stay here unless you want to be treated like a mark.
