Omaka Lodge Authentic and Peaceful.

Our family stop over to Taumarunui which is also part of the Northern Explorer train trip to Wellington, we stayed at the Omaka Lodge.
As we got off the train Scott was ready waiting to pick us up and take us back to their lodge, Scott also showed us parts of their local town and its history.
As we arrived at the Lodge, we were greeted with a warm welcome by Scotts partner Chris and their fur babies.
We stayed there for a couple of nights and meet other couples for dinner and breakfast. (we also played a game guess the letter on a specific item of cutlery which holds toast)
Their place has so much to offer with exceptional views and gardens and sculptures that were hidden throughout their gardens, and inside their home is so cozy that you just don't want to leave, but my favorite part was sitting by the warm fireplace.
Both Scott and Chris are a wealth of knowledge, and their hospitality is on point that you just don't want to leave.

Our second visit to this beautiful place

Our second stay at Omaka Lodge. We cannot fault anything here, the gardens, the rooms, dinner and breakfast and it's 6 stars for the hosts.
For anyone experiencing the Whanganui jet boating, travelling to Whangamomona, or like us into Blue Duck Station it is a

Wonderful place to stay

We spent 4 days at this wonderful Lodge. The accommodation was superb and it is situated in the most beautiful garden. My wife really enjoyed her early morning swims in the delightful pool.
The hosts, Chris &Scott were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We also enjoyed home made dinners on three evenings.
This is a place well worth going considerably out of your way to stay in.

Amazing stay

We regrettably only stayed at the Omaka Lodge for one night, as it was the stand out accommodation of our NZ trip. Chris and Scott are wonderful hosts and made us feel extremely welcome in their home. Their property is divine and faultless. We opted for dinner with them and it was a phenomenal meal which we still talk about today. Highly recommend the Omaka Lodge.

First Class - A Must do!!

Omaka is an amazing place! One that should not be missed!! Scott and Chris are the most outstanding hosts and the lodge itself is first class. Make sure you have a meal there too - you won’t be disappointed. This is my second visit and my friends first, it certainly won’t be our last! Can’t wait to return!!
