Embassy for all tastes
Fantastic. evening had. First an aperitif on the terrace, which is already unique. Afterwards, excellent food in the restaurant. Particularly attentive service, tasty dishes in a beautiful ambience. THANKS

Cannot wait to return
A truly wonderful stay. My sister and I shared a canal view room that was lovely, comfortable, and the views were fantastic. Breakfast was very good with plentiful options. We loved the yogurt! The staff were friendly, confident, and simply fun. Sure there are stairs everywhere- it’s Amsterdam! If you want an authentic experience stay here. I’m returning this fall!

another lovely stay at the Ambassade!
This is the second time I've stayed at the Ambassade and it was just as lovely as the first time. The staff is cheerful and friendly and the rooms are comfy and elegant. The location is perfect ~ a nice walk to the Rijksmuseum. My room looked out over the canal and was very quiet. I'd go back in a minute!

Great luxury boutique hotel option in nicest part of Amsterdam
If you want to stay in a luxury boutique hotel in central Amsterdam, I doubt you will find a better option than the Ambassade. There are fancier options, but if you want luxury married to some concept of value for money, I highly recommend this hotel.
First of all, it’s in a great location. De 9 Straatjes – the picturesque canal area immediately to the west of the old city centre – is hands down the nicest part of Amsterdam. The canals are a beautiful backdrop, there are lots of nice independent restaurants, bars and cafes, there are very few chain outlets of any kind and it’s relatively quiet given that the roads are not very suitable for cars. As a rough guide, it’s about a 20 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum or the Rembrandhuis and 25 minutes to the St Nicholas Basilica.
The staff are all very professional, friendly and welcoming. All our arrangements went 100% smoothly. Our room was ready, they looked after our bags and organised transport when we were leaving etc. All the things that should go right but sometimes don’t.
We stayed in a deluxe canal view room, which we were very happy with. The room was not huge but we had enough space that we didn’t feel cramped. Our room had two small armchairs so that we could relax and read a book at the end of a day of sightseeing. If you’re staying in a historic old building in the centre of an old city like Amsterdam, space is going to be at a premium. And our room did indeed have the advertised nice view over the Herengracht (Gentlemens’ Canal) from our fourth floor location. The bathroom was nicely appointed.
On the ground floor the hotel has a nice bar/ library area which is ideal for resting up and having a drink after a hot day of sightseeing. It would be nice if there were a few more comfy chairs and fewer tables for reading or playing chess. But it’s a nice space.
We had breakfast each morning in the hotel. There was a good choice and at €29 pp all inclusive it was not expensive. We didn’t dine in the hotel but the short menu looked nice.
We would definitely stay here again on any future visit to Amsterdam.

I visit Amsterdam often and have long wanted to stay at this hotel. Too bad it took me so many years - this place is fantastic. The team are friendly and helpful. My room was ready early. It was a canal view with great windows. The brasserie has great food that you can have as room service. Good AC for hot summer nights. Unique styling and design. I loved my experience here and look forward to a return visit.
