Great Time!
The owner was very nice and accommodating to my family and I. Breakfast was very good and the area is very tranquil and beautiful. The room was spacious enough for 4 of us, and was very clean. Overall I personally loved our stay.

Brand New friendly owner (February 2017) would love to return!
We stayed here for the weekend of 11th/12th February as a Valentine/snow-blading weekend and stayed for two nights. We didn't look for a romantic hotel as proximity to the slopes was more important to us. We arrived at around 7pm on Friday night and were greeted straight away by the friendly, enthusiastic, new male owner who offered us drinks. He explained that he had literally been there for 3 days and had plans to renovate with an Indian restaurant in the dining area. He attended to us personally for the duration of our stay and we felt welcomed and pleased to be part of his new venture. The interior of the hotel is traditional and maybe in need of a little updating but it is very comfortable and suited all of our requirements. (It matched another hotel/bar we went into down the hill in the traditional sense too though so maybe it is typical of Amden). We got the impression that maybe the previous owners had retired and that it was the interim period before the new owner could make his mark. There is free parking (via a permit given) and there is the end of a quiet ski slope within a minute or two of the hotel (although we didn't find out how to ski down to it as we used the slopes at Sportbahnen, a 5 minute drive away and that did not end there). If you want lively bars then Amden doesn't have that and it is more family or couple orientated but there are three hotel/restaurant/bars within a 5 minute walk and one is across the road and the hotel itself does have one which will most likely be improved upon too but drinks are available. The wifi was efficient and we had the best room in the hotel (room 8, I think) that was on the corner with magnificent views! The bathroom was small but adequate with a shower and the bed was comfortable and the temperature was perfectly warm. There is a balcony with that room too and it was warm enough to sit out in February during the day. The breakfasts were plentiful with a selection of meat, cheese, yoghurt, croissants and jams and the coffee was perfect. He even asked us wha time we wanted to check out and we extended it by 30 minutes to 11.30am which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated as the half day pass for the slope is from 12.15. We would like to return sometime in the future to see what the owner has achieved as we found the place to be very personal, friendly and and perfect for our requirements as a couple. We don't watch TV so did not think about it but there wasn't one in our room or downstairs so that's a consideration if you do want TV. No complaints from us, would recommend. Great Experience
The rooms are very modest but clean spacious and bright. Very well priced in comparison with other hotels. Having stayed in 3 or 4 star hotels with worse facilities I highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again. What impressed us the most is the owners friendliness and hospitality.

Een hoop geld voor een armoedig en niet fris hotel met een eigenaardige eigenaar.
Het beddengoed was helemaal gekreukeld met gaatjes en vlekken. We hadden per persoon 1 handdoek voor 3 dagen. Geen handdoek voor je handen. Bij het ontbijt moest je de boter en de jam potten delen met andere gasten, en er waren stukjes brood en wat schaaltjes fruit en worst maar dat zag er niet echt fris uit. Er was waterige koffie als je sterkere koffie wilde moest je € 5,25 meer betalen. En zo waren er nog meer rare dingen die ik nog niet eerder heb meegemaakt. Je betaald een hoop geld wat het niet waard is. Maar het gaat hier niet om de gast maar om de eigenaar die op een eigenaardige manier met zijn gasten omgaat om geld te verdienen.

Meine Erfahrungen
Super leckerer indische Küche und eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf den Wallensee. Der Hotelbesitzer ist sehr zuvorkommend und in dem Familienbetrieb fühlt man sich sehr wohl. Ich kann es jedem empfehlen, der einen herzlichen Umgang mit Menschen zu schätzen weiss.
