Wonderful Hotel Near Old Town

Great hotel with clean refurbished rooms. The rooms have plenty of outlets for charging. The hotel itself is charming and welcoming. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant is with the price. Very good and plentiful. Location is very close to the Old Town and if you are here at Christmas close to markets.

Nice Hotel, Terrible Breakfast Experience

I found Hotel Odelya’s rooms and front desk service to be good quality. I found its location to be outstanding. I found its general appearance and overall cleanliness to be top notch. That said, I felt like a second class citizen at the hotel’s Sunday morning breakfast, which I had added on to my reservation at extra cost. This is because I and my family were relegated to inferior seating—i.e., a few drab tables located in an area with zero sun and no table setting—and only allowed to eat from certain portions of their breakfast food stations because the best morning sun-draped tables, seating, and food options I embarrassingly learned while breakfasting were reserved for non-hotel guest Sunday brunch goers. I was left feeling like a kid table designee while others seemingly inexplicably enjoyed premium food and service that was viewable by me and my fellow guests but not partakable by us.. The hotel should make this reality clearer to hotel guests before they select and pay for the pricy breakfast-included option for their stay.

Feel-good place - in a historic building and with modern hospitality

Nicely located hotel, in the middle of a park and in perfect location to the historic old town. Very friendly service and a good, generous breakfast buffet. The house used to be the "Basler Mission", missionaries were trained here - today there are modern meeting rooms and the hotel rooms are simple but tip-top clean and quiet.

Didn't love it

The beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever had in a hotel. All three of us woke up with sore backs. The shower head had about four pinholes that weren't clogged, so if you wanted any volume out of it, it came out hard enough to hurt. The room was OK but nothing special, the common area near the reception uninteresting, and the common toilets were in the basement. Restaurant was in a different building, again, nothing special. A large and clean free parking garage.

Very nice hotel.

Stayed a night here whilst on a driving holiday. Hotel was really clean and well kept. Plenty of car parking.
We had a buffet style evening meal which was good. Also breakfast was good, with all the usual choices.
Would stay again if we went back to Basel.
