Attractive hostal, perfect overnight stop

Great location alongside the river, easy walking distance to all the amenities of this small town. Warm welcome, very helpful proprietors, excellent restaurant attached (reviewed separately). Amazing breakfast, including local products. Media Pension is especially good value. Small balcony with mountain views. Only negative is that we would not choose the room we had for a longer stay: although comfortable and clean, it was really quite small, no chairs in the room and very little space for luggage.

modest and clean

We chose this hotel because it was in the last Spanish village before crossing the border.
Impeccable welcome, the room small but very clean;
The comfortable bedding, however we were cold, the heating was not sufficient
not, compared to the temperature near zero.

Alright.

Very pleasant and professional staff. Very good location. Clean rooms, good kitchen. Very good value for money. Everything is perfect, easy parking for cars and motorbikes………………etc

Aranese hospitality at low prices, coupled with a good restaurant

Ideal stopover in this friendly village at the entrance to the Val d'Aran. Family welcome, satisfactory comfort for a reasonable price, especially if you book directly. The Trastienda restaurant is to be recommended, combining local produce and creativity...

Fantastic value, breakfasts, dinner and great hosts

We booked 2 rooms in the Hostaltina for our family for 8 days as we wanted a base to explore this area and do some walking and outdoor activities. The price seemed like excellent value when I booked, but soon after arrival it became obvious that the price was just the tip of this superb iceberg.
The rooms were small and simple, but comfortable. The shower is superb, in case that is important to you. As we were there mid-summer opening the windows was great ventilation as there is no aircon. But as each room has 2 windows you get a good through draft.
Our hosts simply couldn't do enough to help us. Señor was very helpful in telling us about good walks, places to go and things to do. Through his advice we went white water rafting and canyoning with a local company in Les which were both great fun.
And then you come to the food! Breakfast is not included and at €7 initially seemed a bit pricey. But once we had the first one, we were hooked. Coffee or hot chocolate, fresh orange juice, local yoghurt, omelette, spanish ham and cheese, small croissant and pastries, toast and jam, for every breakfast. You don't really need to eat again until the evening, though we always did.
We ate there 3 times in the evening (at the Trastienda restuarant which is part of the hotel) and were again never dissapointed. Great food, especially the local soup (Olla Aranesa), paella and local lamb. All washed down with nice Spanish wine or beer.
A great find and we are already looking forward to returning.
