lovely apartment
We rented this through a private company.
Just read the only other review and our experience could not have been more different.
obviously the set up has changed since the previous review was written. There is now no reception etc as this is all private rentals. There is no bar at the pool but clearly there has been at some point.
Arrival
All correspondence was done by email to the owner prior to arrival.
They met us at the front door and showed us round the top floor apartment.
We paid a 200 euro deposit, a bit steep, but it ensures that people look after the place and this was relected in the quality of the apartment.
The apartment itself
Had one bedroom with twin beds, two lots of sheets and 2 wardrobes, there were extra blankets etc but they stayed firmly in the wardrobe.
Sheets and towels were provided, this is not always the case with private rentals and kept the suitcase weight down.
The bathroom was fairly small with a shower over the bath, the water was always hot and the shower was very powerful, very welcome after a hot day of suncream and salty water at the beach.
the kitchen had 2 ceramic hobs, a fridge with a freezer compartment and a washing machine.
We changed our own sheets and towels, the machine had a quick wash facility and it only took about 3 mns to put the sheets back on the bed. i would prefer a machine to a cleaner. Putting the rubbish out was not a problem as the bin was at the front door.
To the reviewer who said Tossa was boring, I would ask what did they want from a holiday resort? We want lots of lovely little restaurants and bars and not loud music etc. That is why we chose this place. If you want Brit bars and discos, go to Lloret.
There is a disco over the main road and if you listened very carefully you could just about hear it but it did not keep us awake.
The pool
was only small but big enough, it didn't seem to get busy, probably due to the proximity of the beach, which we prefer.
We will, at some point, return to Tossa and would stay here again

Never again
As we arrived at the apartments there was people outside waiting to go home, and the first thing a man said to us was ' if i was you i would jump straight back onto thet coach'. Not good first impresions!!!
Went to get the lift as we were on the top floor got halfway up and the lift broke down was stranded in there for over an hour.
By the time we got to our room it was very late so went to bed, woke up in the morning went out onto the balcony to see the fabulous view of a closed down hotel with a mouldy swimming pool, stray cats and dogs, and rubbish laying everywere.
We had maid service twice a week but all they did was change your bedding, we had to take our rubbish out to the bins, and go down to reception to ask for more toilet roll half the time no one at reception.
tossa de mar is very boring nothing to do at all very residential and the locals are so rude to the english.
i will never go to these apartments again even if you paid me or to this resort.

Bonito sitio pero comida sosa y servicio pésimo. Relacion calidad precio muy mala. No vale la pena pedir comida de carta. Las vistas son fenomenales pero no recomiendo gastar 100 euros en pescado y paellas en este sitio.

Belle vue bon service cher peu abondant et on ne peut pas servir la paella pour une seule personne au mois de juin dixit maître soit disant. D’hôtel nul on avance heureusement il y a beaucoup de restaurant moins obtus
