Hideous. Such a racist experience in my own country by Indian owners. Called me a bitch, filthy place, recorded me.

Horrendous. Blood on the walls, carpets stained with filth. Bathroom tiles cracked & mouldy, toddler toilet seat that bites. Rudest employees that follow you around with hapless "lower" employees to film your every move. Then called me a "bitch" for chatting & apparently making too much noise with a fellow traveller. Then the biggest scam of all time is that he demands a $200 plus bond! We lost ours as a scam because we we're too loud. Spoke with others there & Sam" the night manager is the biggest scammer, coward ever. Warning: do not stay here. He doesn't have any aussie values whatsoever.

I don’t understand why they need your drivers license to be photocopy when you book in. Today world you need to keep your personal information SAFE with all the scams happen out there today. Also you had to put a $200 down for bond. My friend in her room she had power points with no cover on it also her shower head was spraying from the top over the walls and ceiling and a broken kitchen tap.

Basil Fawty in Pinjarra

This is actually quite a difficult review to write. If you look at past reviews, a lot of travellers report uncomfortable beds, tired rooms, dirty carpets and a long wait to get your deposit back. I did not find any of this. I would have probably given four stars if it was not for a very unnecessary incident and the complete buffoonery shown by the manager/owner.
We booked two nights at the Pinjarra Resort. We were attending a music festival which got cancelled due to bad weather. The event organisers offered a refund, unfortunately the Pinjarra resort did not so we decided to make a weekend of it.
Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very pleasant.
We were not expecting the Ritz with this accommodation, their main clients are out of town workers. But being perfectly honest, the room was fine. The bed was comfortable, bathroom facilities were adequate, certainly nothing bad.
The hotel has an Indian restaurant which we dined at on our first night. We know our way around Indian cuisine and the food was pretty good. We had a really nice meal, the wine was ok too.. all in all a good experience.
Then it all goes bad! The following night we ate at a nearby pub. We got back to the hotel at around 9:30pm. We had some friends - who were also staying at the hotel - join us outside our room for a few drinks, we also had another couple of friends who were staying nearby join us, so basically six of us, chatting and playing some music which was in no way, shape or form being played loudly. We are very respectful 50 somethings not rowdy teenagers. At around 9:50, some guy who I assume was the manager and owner showed up with a very embarrassed looking member of staff and literally started shouting at us about the music and the fact we were sitting outside our paid for accommodation having a natter. The term “went off like a frog in a sock” comes to mind! I bit my tongue for as long as I could before I felt I had to retort! I explained to him how rude he was and how aggressive he was being. This only seemed to fire him up even more. I then got up and demonstrated to him how - by asking us in a calm and civil manner - he would have got the desired outcome, (us turning the music off) without resorting to an absolute raging nutcase!
I’l like to add at this point that if any other guests were inconvenienced by the music, I do apologise. When Basil Fawty started his rant, he did scream that there were complaints. I’d be dubious of that claim but feel like it needs to be acknowledged.
Needless to say, we were all in a state of shock. We obviously turned the music off and he went off raging into the night. For us the night was ruined! Reading some past reviews, it would seem this is not the first time he has done this. To this gentleman, I would like to offer the following advice. People who stay at your hotel, pay you for this privilege and do not expect to be spoken to like something you find on the bottom of your shoe. If you have such disdain for your customers, I would suggest either getting out of the hotel game all together, or get yourself a trained manager in who knows how to treat hotel guests.
On the plus side, we did get our deposit back quickly so maybe they do read the reviews ‍♂️
Do better mate!

Not very helpful and wouldn’t suggest booking there

I would’ve not rate this hotel. I wouldn’t even waste my money on it as I had booked mine online and it says it was paid and confirmed drove all the way out there for them to say that I needed to pay another bond and then to say that they won’t let me into the room and then they’re not gonna refund my money so my kids and I sat there for two hours waiting for them to refund the payment and then say that we couldn’t have it so not a very good hotel not very helpful especially for families who are finding it hard on finances at the moment when they don’t refund your money and you haven’t even stayed there.

We were in town for an event and had to stay for a minimum of two nights due to it being Easter weekend as did the other guests at $220 per night which is alot considering it is a basic motel room.
There was a large family that had also booked in and we were very disappointed when one group out of this family was asked to leave because their kids had their cousins over for a swim who weren't staying at the hotel. The kids were well behaved, having fun and not causing any trouble, nor were the family, they even called the police who attended and escorted the calm family off the property. It was an extreme over reaction in our opinion and we did wonder if it were because the family were of a different culture to the people running the resort.
