Dirty and broken room without accommodating Mr Thier
First, we were asked to be quiet after 10pm because there was a football training camp and the participants had to get up early, which was quite understandable. But the bad thing was that the football team itself was very loud, e.g. with loud music sometimes as late as 1 a.m., and several teenagers from our group could not get enough sleep. If we wanted to discuss this with the staff, we weren't taken seriously.
As for the rooms, there were also several problems. In my room, it was not quite clean and we found e.g. garbage and a water bottle under our bed.
If we wanted to turn on the light at the bed, it smelled strongly of something burned and after that the light stopped turning on. When Mr. Thier came to us in the room, he said I probably put a pillow too close to the lamp and that was it. The smell stayed in the room, even if we didn't use the lamp anymore.
The three of us who had to share a room didn't even know each other. In the room was the toilet in a small room and in another room the sink and shower. Which was problematic, the door to the toilet is broken and not closing, which was very uncomfortable. You couldn't even go to the bathroom undisturbed.
Despite everything we tried, we were not allowed to change rooms and none of us were taken seriously.
Furthermore, no matter what age, we were not allowed to simply use the swimming pool and sauna in the basement. Without permission it was not allowed, but the football team did not have to do that. We were told several times by Mr Thier that the swimming pool was now closed for today, but then we learn from the football team that it was a lie. We were only told they were closing at 7pm. The football team was there until 11:00. Only afterwards was we told by Mr Thier that the swimming pool and sauna only close at 10 pm. One evening we were there with the football team. When the last female footballer left, we were all kicked out. It was complete. 11:30 p.m., and we thought it was weird that he didn't come by just before 10 p.m. and ask all of us (our group and the football team) to get out of the water, but not until the team was gone.
Overall an unhappy experience with the staff. The rooms were ok though and the breakfast was also quite fine. That's why Hotel Thier gets 2 stars.
