More than we expected

My husband and I have just spent 3 nights at Hotel Eder Michaela based on the positive reviews we could read about breakfast and cleanliness. We must say that our expectations were fully met. Very welcoming hosts and very clean everywhere. In the morning the host comes and asks if we want mirror plants or eggs, which he prepares and serves fine decorated with flowers from the garden. We hadn’t gotten into what the Joker Card was about, so we were positively surprised when it was included in the price. This saved us too much expenses for experiences. Among other things ski lift in the area and bus. The bus can be taken all the way to Salzburg. That's where we just came from, so if we stayed in the area. Our room was fine but felt very warm, as if there was floor heating. It must be nice on a cold winter day, but we are used to sleeping in a cool room, so it was not so nice. I mentioned it for the hostess and we were offered another room if we wanted it. The infomap says that you can get a top mattress if the bed is too hard. So no complaints from here, but just to emphasize that the host couple attaches importance to that we should feel comfortable.
The first day we took the car to Saalbach and took Schattberg X-press 1 and 2 up to Schattberg Ost from where we walked to Schattberg West and took Westgipfelbahn down to Hinterglemm. Here we took the bus back to Saalbach. By showing the Joker Card at the box for the ski lift, we could park for free - another positive surprise. Day 2 we chose to take the bus, so we escaped to have to find parking. We can recommend 12-hole mini golf course in Hinterglemm, which is also free with the Joker Card. It is located in connection with a fantastic playground, so it is definitely a place that we can recommend for families with children. We took the bus to the end stop at Lengau, where you take a small train (traktor with carriages) 2.5 km up to Jump & Slide Park. You can visit the Baumzipfelweg and the Golden Gate Bridge. The train is free with the Joker Card, but the activities cost money. We took a hiking wanderfehrpfad in the area before taking the bus back to the hotel.
We have had some beautiful days with stunning views and good experiences. Best recommendations from here.

Wonderful hotel!

We stayed here 2 weeks ago for a week of snowboarding and what a wonderful hotel it is. Location is perfect for gondola and skibus. The room was cleaned everyday. 5 course meals every night which were delicious! And breakfast had a lovely range of food on offer. The family That run the hotel are super lovely and friendly and very accommodating arranging transfers etc for us. Will definitely be booking this hotel again!

Family hotel with kind staff and perfect location

We booked the hotel because it is located in a walking distance from gondola which is very convenient if you want to ski several days in a row in Saalbach. First, we were a bit disappointed there is no bar in the hotel, but finally, it was really not a big deal. We could sit at our dining table till late evening and order glass of wine without any problems.
The rooms were nice and clean but the main positive point were the staff. All were so kind and they even tried their best to meet dietary requirements of our son. They were all so nice! I, definitely, recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel with very nice people who are running it

i couldnt imagine better place to stay in Saalbach on our vaccation with my girlfriend and our little doggo.
wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit, good coffee and warm bread fueled us every day for our daily activities. Thanks to Joker Card which we recieved at chceckin we could enjoy gondolas for free to hike on beautiful mountains.
In the evening after long days out sauna was a well deserved resting opportunity before we went to sleep.
hotel itself was very clean,calm and very welcoming.
we will most certainly come again this year once more.

Ski holiday

Absolutely the most wunderful and nice hotel we have been visitering in Austria. The hotel is very closr to the Schonleiter lift and the rooms are lovely, clean and with a lovely view to the mountains. The wunderful family who runs the hotel and the most lovely, nice and friendly we have meet. The food is very nice and plenty of it. We have had the most wunderful holiday and can strongly recommend the nice place. We will be back for sure. All the best from family Lisa and Michael Elgaard with sons
