Older large hotel in Oberlahr on the Wied.

It is a large hotel on the Wied in Oberlahr. The charm of the 80s can be seen here and there, the rooms are (with the exception of the bathroom) renovated, the restaurant with a rather small menu is top-notch. Very nice approach by the staff. The swimming pool falls a bit short; a basic renovation would be necessary here. The outdoor area with loungers and beach chairs is very nice, however. We paid €160 for a double room; unfortunately, there was no water in the room and no bathrobe included.

75th anniversary of the company

On the occasion of our 75th company anniversary, we were able to host a large celebration at the hotel on June 26, 2026, with over 160 guests.
Even in advance, the collaboration with the sales manager Mr. Becker and the team around Ms. Ehlscheid Schelzke was extremely pleasant, but what awaited us on the day of the event clearly exceeded our expectations.
It was one of the hottest days since weather records began – a challenge that the entire hotel team mastered with impressive professionalism, commitment, and palpable passion.
From early afternoon until late evening, the staff were present, active, and always friendly and approachable. Despite the extreme temperatures, the team remained attentive, helpful, and always in a good mood. This attitude significantly contributed to our guests feeling completely comfortable.
The evening event took place in the air-conditioned restaurant, which provided noticeable relief and a pleasant atmosphere. The atmosphere was festive yet relaxed – exactly the right mix for our company anniversary.
Special praise is due to the kitchen crew: The snacks that were prepared in the afternoon and the abundant grill buffet were not only visually appealing but also a complete success in terms of taste. The selection was diverse, fresh, and high-quality – there was truly something for every taste. From fish and meat specialties to delicious side dishes and vegetarian and vegan options, the buffet was perfectly arranged. Many of our guests explicitly praised the food and highlighted how well it was done.
Overall, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the entire team.
The combination of professional organization, warm hospitality, excellent service, and culinary quality made our anniversary an unforgettable event. We felt well taken care of at all times and would choose the hotel again for events of this kind.
Absolute recommendation – both for large events and private stays.

As always super great, like with friends

We were there on weekends from Friday to Sunday and felt very comfortable again.
The wellness area has slowed us down again.
The massage was good for us.
Now for catering:
The breakfast was so rich and very tasty, at dinner everything was available that can be imagined as a buffet.
Of course, there were also those who have something to complain about, but I think there is much less at home with them than here in the restaurant.
There was nothing at the bar that could not have been ordered, Amando and Abdullah and the girls did almost everything they could.
They're all totally dear and courteous.
If you don't step on their toes!
Our room was all in all tip-top.
The reception is not only for checking in and out, but also a point where you can exchange some words. All in all, we would describe it more like a large family and also Mrs. T. E-S. Is the very pleasant "mother" of the house, even if she sometimes has to scold, but that happens in the best families sometimes.
Conclusion from us:
It has not been the last time we have been there.
Even if some guests had something to complain about at a high level about everything and everyone, my opinion is that you mean to take out their negative quote on people they don't know, instead of sweeping on their doorstep.
So now I'm done.

Great hotel in beautiful surroundings

We were here with a hiking group. Had a very nice week in September. The weather was right, the area invites you to hike and staff and food were excellent. The beds were comfortable and large, the wellness area was clean and well maintained. Although some company seminars took place at the same time, it was always quite empty in the wellness area. In the sauna you were often alone. The boss takes care of her guests with passion. We liked it very much we will come back.

This hotel needs a basic modernization , combined with a new guest concept

The best time this hotel has already here. Rooms in need of renovation with min bathroom. Chef tries to keep the store informed, staff are also friendly, but that is not enough for a modern guest concept. Arrangement with HP was sufficient, but not special. Unfortunately there was no buffet due to the small number of guests. Rural charm of bygone times.
