This hotel does not deserve any stars;
The reception area looks very good. The staff is very friendly, but quite new to the hotel and is not familiar with the rooms.
Room 323 is a standard double room, but it is a disgrace. The carpeting has stains, the bathroom—or should one rather say "bathroom stall"—is only 1.20*1.40m small. A fall is not possible. The soap dispensers are mounted too high, and there is mold in the shower. One searches in vain for a refrigerator or safe in the room, and there is no espresso machine available. The breakfast is acceptable, but for a four-star hotel, there are still improvements to be made, such as fresh egg dishes instead of those kept warm on a plate.
Since there is no à la carte menu due to a lack of staff, one must rely on the menu, which is unreasonable. Very simple and inexpensive dishes such as currywurst, overcooked vegetables, etc.
A silver lining is the swimming pool, although sometimes the towels have run out.

4 stars imposition
We were looking forward to two relaxing days in an upscale hotel. We got a room which was an absolute imposition. We changed the room immediately because the carpet was so dirty that you only liked to walk over it with street shoes. That was at the 2. Room a little better. The decor of the simple double rooms is more than ageing. That was nothing compared to the bathroom. This was besides the fact that it felt only 1 m2 in size, really an imposition. The shower was moldy in both rooms, so showers were voluntarily unthinkable. The rest of the bath also did not correspond to the fact that here was thoroughly cleaned daily. Then the bathroom can't look like this. The hallway carpets in the unrenovated part did not look better. Can't even go for 4 stars. The pool, on the other hand, was already newly made and with showers that you could use as a substitute. The locker rooms had cupboards in them again, reminiscent of bad swimming pools. Cleaning of the locker rooms was also deficient again. Towels for the sauna should also be brought your own. 3x exchanged before anything stain-free was included.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. At least something. Breakfast was great!!! Highly recommended. Dinner by card was also good, although depending on the chef very different on the same order. And you have to schedule time.
The evening buffet was arranged in green thermal containers. Totally unimaginative. We didn't do that.
FYI, sir. The renovated rooms looked much better - just as you would have liked. The simple double rooms are actually max. Worth 2 stars. Should the hotel think about it. They were not that much cheaper in comparison.

Not again.
We stayed at this hotel for over a weekend. Very quiet location and in beautiful forest proximity, perfect as a starting point to discover the Thuringian Forest.
The reception at check in was very friendly and informative. We had booked a double room Comfort which was very quiet and clean. The early opening of the indoor pool we found very pleasant. Unfortunately, the towels were off all the time, so a check should be done more often in a timely manner. The water temperature we felt was sufficient.
The large dining room seemed very uncomfortable, cold and had unpleasant lighting. The breakfast buffet we can only report positive, very varied and of salmon, fresh sausage, eggs, bacon and sausages everything was delicious. The selection of baked goods was very varied and tasty.
The second coffee machine also prevented long queuing.
Negatively, we unfortunately have to emphasize the evening buffet. You had to help yourself from green thermal containers, just from the sight alone we were served. The food was also not recommended in terms of taste. The salads were loveless and messed up. The second evening we therefore ate away. The hotel is a bit far from the 4-star level and the breakfast buffet is very good. We would recommend booking with breakfast only.
Our next stay in Thuringia will definitely be at another hotel.

Not again. Not an option for us in the future.
The appearance was very good. That's where it almost stops. Although we had stated that we were disabled, we got a room with a very narrow, high shower. The new room was bigger, had a small living area and a real disabled bathroom like in the hospital. Wheelchair suitable, with disabled seat and fully equipped with small, white tiles, but for this extra charge of 20 euros per day, but okay. Old furniture, dirty, worn out. The restaurant only offered buffet or menu, not a normal menu. Very many, long corridors to the room. Our little dog, for which we had to pay 12 euros a day, was not allowed in the room with the other guests, so we would be quartered. On the last day, however, all the guests were in our room, what are you doing? Breakfast went on until 10am, but by 9am the sausage and cheese were already dry and tarnished. The fully automatic coffee machine was partially defective, the coffee in the pots lukewarm. Parking fees we have never paid in the hotel, here it was 5 euros per day. Often you didn't get parking at all when there were events in the hotel. The only thing you could highly praise was the great, even clean pool. Our exchange with other guests can also confirm all this. Staff at reception were always friendly and helpful

Were there better three star hotels than this four star hotel
It is quiet and located in the woods, has very friendly, but partly also accustomed staff. Zi ageing, steam bath cold, no minibar, buffet in the evening poor, value for money not right at all. Bar in the hotel closes Sat 10pm... so the pool was cool, but the rest didn't convince us. The location compensates perhaps, but next time here, would rather switch to another hotel or guesthouse
