A friendly, immaculately clean, family-run hotel with a nice welcome.

Very nice. A friendly, immaculately clean, family-run hotel with a nice welcome.
We stayed there for 3 days by chance after leaving the autobahn with a puncture, but really pleased we found it and we will use it again.
Very convenient, only a couple of kilometres from the Autobahn... and about 4-5 hours from the channel ports so a good place to break your journey if you are travelling across Germany from the UK or back. If you have time It's worth staying a few days and exploring the area.
The surrounding area is interesting .. a nice brewery Restaurant 200mtrs away open till late (Vulkan Braueri) and the surrounding area is an ancient volcanic area with geysers, calderas etc nearby.
We never knew a volcanic area with Geysers existed in Germany, the Geyser erupts at regular intervals with boat trips scheduled to see it.
We will definitely plan on staying there again.

Spontaneously accommodated 2 drivers in the morning who needed a check in in the morning at 9. Great service! Great old established hotel in Mendig. Recommended without exception:-D

Give it a couple of days to sink in

I’ll be honest when I first arrived I thought my god where did they send me. It was a small hotel that being from the west I just wasn’t prepared for. I thought the rooms were dated, room key had to be used to lock and unlock your door even from inside, room key holder looked like it should be used for a sinker if you were out at sea and location were in the middle of nowhere. BUT that couldn’t be farther from the truth. After a couple of days all those odd things I talked about became the things that made this hotel special. I think back to all the hotels I have stayed at over the years and they all just blend in together but not this one. I will remember it always. From Alex the son who works behind the counter. He helped me on numerus occasions with directions and printing out maps and things. He knew everything about the area and the best way to get there. To the father who would smile and tell me good morning each day as I walked down stairs and the mother who’s cooking is second to none. Being a family owned hotel they were all invested in the hotel and it showed by the way they seemed to love what they did each day. So before you pass up on this hotel as you drive by give it a chance I guarantee you will feel the same way I do. So the big question would I stay there again. YES YES YES in a heart beat I would love to stay there again only this time I would see the hotel for what it was from the beginning and not have to wait a couple of days.

Idyllic looking place

We really enjoyed staying at the premises. We especially enjoyed there were adequate parking spaces, the WiFi was good and that the place is comfortable to stay. It has a nice lounge where you can chill at the fireplace. The Vulkan Brewery is around the corner.

The perfect weekend!

I have stayed with my wife in this splendid hotel and we were welcomed so warmly by the staff of this establishment, managed by a so friendly family.
The bedroom was really confortable and the breakfast so nice with really tasty good German bread.
I strongly recommend it if you are in this beautiful region.
I will come back for sure!
