Peace and serenity in a superb setting, with the most friendly and wonderful staff.

The Ritz houseboat was an absolute treasure and a total “home away from home”. We loved our time there and would highly recommend it to everyone. Mushdaq and Jehangir, the father and son who own and run the houseboat, along with Imitiaz the cook, are all truly magnificent men. They are kind, humble, gentle and generous men for whom nothing is too much trouble. The setting was superbly serene and tranquil, in a perfect location to watch the sunsets . The houseboat itself was gorgeous - all the amazing woodwork was hand carved out of cedar and the furniture from walnut. Beautiful decor. The meals were fresh and superb. We went on a three day trek to lakes nandkol and gangbal, organised for us by jehangir and Mushdaq. This also was totally fabulous fun. Great attention to detail. Our guide, Faj, and the horse man, Sajad, were both wonderful people to spend time with and extremely competent and efficient. All in all, I couldn’t think of a better place to stay in Srinagar, nor better people to look after you. Thank you all so much.

A true gem: both the boat and people associated with Lily.

My first time in Kashmir. I was looked after so well from beginning@ the airport and even now as i wait fpr my departure flight to be rescheduled. And was rescued from the chaos of the airport.
The ‘Lily’ is charming, cosy, clean and a true character vessel. There was plenty to wander around and explore nearby. There was no pressure to do or buy anything despite all the shopping options you could imagine being available.
The meals were really delicious and nourishing home cooking. I loved that too.
Nothing ever seemed too much trouble for anyone involved in my stay. And i also felt safe, respected and well cared for always as an older solo female traveller. Finally, i didn’t know what to ‘look’ at here in Kashmir, i was delighted by all the experiences offered and would recommend to family, friends, solo or a couple to spend time on the Lily’ with her accompanying treasures (all of the people) to treat you like family. Or royalty if required.

Exceptional experience

I been first time in houseboat and so glad that I choose to stay here, I felt like home enjoyed the meals and we took a boat trip to explore the lake and surroundings , it was a great experience.
Looking forward to coming again... See you soon!!!!

Excellent stay with a nice view

It was a flawless stay with nice people. The host is very interested in the people and has excellent English knowledge. The food was very good, and also the view from every room. It's family-friendly and also good for a romantic trip. If you need something, they help you with everything and plan some trips together with you to the best prices. The rooms and everything else are clean. All in all, I would recommend it to everyone!!

Solo female traveller

My first visit to Kashmir solo , and I was bit hesitant but once I checked in at this houseboat I felt comfortable and peaceful... The staff was helpful and served delicious homemade food, the park adjoining was beautiful and I enjoyed an evening walk. Hopefully next time I'll visit with my friends again.
