Comfortable Stay, Incredible Photos & Valuable Dive Experiences (but with areas to improve)
Glad to have stayed and dived with Goro Adventures & Dive Centre during our April dive trip. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully equipped for divers, with useful amenities like multi-plug extensions with USB ports, foldable water bottles, a hair dryer, and drying racks for dive gear. The large bathroom was also convenient for rinsing equipment. While the air conditioning could be stronger, I appreciated their energy-saving efforts with the automatic shut-off feature. Yunan and his team were warm and helpful throughout our stay. Special thanks to the kitchen team for the consistently delicious meals and the comforting Indomie Goreng after dives — we truly felt well taken care of.
If there’s one area Goro Adventures & Dive Centre could improve on, it would be the services during the diving trips. The toilet on the day dive boat was extremely smelly, which was quite unpleasant and something that should not be overlooked! A cleaner and fresher toilet experience would greatly improve comfort for guests during dives.
More importantly, there appeared to be a lack of commitment towards providing proper safety measures for diving customers, which is a serious area that requires attention and improvement.
Throughout the 5 days of diving, we had only one DM, Pak Noldi, managing a group of 10 divers. While most of us were experienced, a ratio of 1 DM to 5 divers would have been much safer and more ideal. There were instances where divers became separated from the group during both night and day dives, including myself. The boat used for night dives was also small and cramped for 10 divers and their tanks. The lack of proper lighting on the boat made gearing up and removing BCDs difficult and raised additional safety concerns. As a result, a few of us chose to skip the night dive altogether.
That said, Pak Noldi did his best to manage the team despite the manpower limitations. To help ease the situation, the group was eventually split, with one team following Pak Noldi and the other following Pak Yopit, the in-house underwater photographer. Pak Yopit was especially helpful during the muck dives, and having an in-house photographer on every dive was a huge plus. We truly appreciated the beautiful group and individual photos captured with the whale sharks, coral gardens, and sea fans — definitely one of Goro Adventures & Dive Centre’s strongest highlights.
We sincerely hope the management addresses the manpower limitations within the dive crew, as it was clear that managing everything alone was challenging for Pak Noldi. Because of these safety and manpower concerns, I’m unable to give a full 6-star rating, although I truly would have loved to. That said, many thanks to Pak Noldi and the crew for always taking care of us, and to Pak Yunan and his team for making sure we were comfortable and well fed throughout our stay. We would gladly return to stay and dive again with Goro Adventures & Dive Centre in the future.

Adventure! Great! Unique!
A great time despite difficult conditions as it rained a lot. Yunan and his team knew how to turn the two weeks I spent with them into an adventure. Gorontalo is so much more than the whale shark!!! Islands with snow-white sand, jungle trips, wild underwater world with huge, unique corals and lots of fish, boat trips on lakes, hot springs, bathing in cold rivers, bathing in hot lakes, climbing to stalactite cave, hiking through the wild jungle always upstream to a barrel fall, barbecue on the seashore, colorful sunsets, animal tours in national parks, water rafting, paragliding, and diving again and again. We laughed a lot and ate great. If you’re looking for a dedicated, reliable and fair gide that makes that impossible, then Yunan and his team are the right place for you.

Super dive center
We can highly recommend the Goroadventures team. They took great care of us (picking us up from the ferry and delicious food). Snorkeling and diving were very nice. We saw pygmy seahorses and whale sharks on one dive. The new accommodations are very chic and high quality.
